Overview
The two-day Defensive Driver Course aims to enhance driving skills and minimize the chances of accidents by providing guidance on observing road conditions, anticipating dangers, maintaining vehicle control and more. The comprehensive defensive driving training equips participants with effective approaches to identify and mitigate road hazards. It instils defensive driving and advanced driving techniques that are applicable to various road settings including towns, countryside and motorways.
Units
To achieve a qualification and award of the PDTI Defensive Driver Training Certificate, competency must be demonstrated in the following units of competency:
PDTIDT3-001 – Apply advanced driving techniques
Element 1: Manage collision when driving a vehicle
Element 2: Demonstrate and maintain competence in vehicle control skills
PDTIDT3-002 – Be Situationally Aware when Driving a Vehicle
Element 1 – Be situationally aware of safety and security measures
Element 2 – Apply response actions in the event of safety and security incidents
Cost
The cost of this course is based on a per participant basis, however, prices per individual can be negotiated on group bookings. The minimum number of course attendees per course is 6 people and the maximum number per course is set at 12 people.

Delivery
The Defensive Driver Training course is instructor lead taking place in a face-to-face setting, that includes theory sessions in a classroom, including a basic theory assessment. This is followed by a practical on road driving assessment.
All course participants will be provided with a compressive course booklet that provides notes and information on all course topics/modules.
Practical driver assessments will be done using client vehicles.
